Marikina River on 2nd alarm as water level rises due to Enteng rains
The water level in Marikina River rose on Monday morning, prompting the local government to raise the second alarm as Tropical Storm Enteng brought rains in different parts of the country.
As of 3:35 p.m., the city government’s public information office said that the Marikina River’s water level is currently at 16 meters. This is slightly lower than the 16.4 m recorded at 2 p.m. and the 16.6 m at 12:48 p.m.
The river’s water level was 16 meters at 8:32 a.m.
Second alarm means residents are advised to evacuate.
When the water level reaches 18 meters or the third alarm, a “forced evacuation” will be in effect.
