Marcos declares Palawan ‘insurgency-free’
PUERTO PRINCESA, Palawan: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has formally declared this province free from communist insurgency, seen to further boost the tourism industry in the country.
Marcos made the declaration during the celebration of the National Peace Consciousness Month 2023 here on Friday.
During the event, Marcos affirmed the declaration made through a joint resolution by the Palawan Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-Elcac) and the Provincial Peace and Order Council in 2022.
