
Fires hit homes in Manila, Mandaluyong
AMID the downpour, two fire incidents broke out in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Saturday morning, one in Manila and the other in Mandaluyong City.
Firefighters reported that the Sta. Mesa, Manila fire hit a densely populated residential area along Santol Street.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) the Manila fire was first logged at 9:31 a.m., but the intensity of the blaze was quickly raised the first alarm at 9:34 p.m., and again to the second alarm a minute later, and to the third alarm by 9:45 a.m.
The flames spread rapidly through the houses and structures in the area as they were closely built to each other.
No injuries or casualties have been reported, so far. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the damage to property.

Mandaluyong fire
Meanwhile, the Mandaluyong City fire broke out shortly before noon Saturday, also in a residential area in Barangay Addition Hills in the city, prompting a swift and large-scale response from firefighters despite challenging weather and the situation in the area.
