DepEd”s ‘Catch-up Fridays” to begin Jan. 12

All Fridays throughout the current school year are now designated as a “catch-up” day with a goal of particularly improving the reading skills of learners, the Department of Education (DepEd) said on Thursday. 

Starting January 12, 2024, DepEd will implement “Catch-up Fridays” to learners in all public elementary and secondary schools and community learning centers nationwide in a bid to enhance the academic performance of students  in the K to 12  Basic Education Program, considering their low proficiency levels in reading based on national and international large-scale assessments.&nbs
